Who should get the Winter flu vaccination?
The winter flu vaccination is available to individuals over the age of 13. It’s recommended that the following groups be immunised every year:
- Anyone over the age 0f 65
- Pregnant Women
- People with long term medical conditions like diabetes, liver issues, kidney issues, etc.
- Has Cancer
- Has a weakened immune system due to treatments or a disease
- Has a body mass index exceeding 40
- Has Down Syndrome
- Has haemoglobinopathy
- Lives in a nursing home or any other long-stay residence
- Works directly with patients in a health care faculty
- Lives with a high-risk individual
- Has regular contact with waterfowl, pigs or poultry.
